Itinerary

Day 1: Villages of the Hajar Mountains

Meet your guide early in the morning, to leave Muscat for the villages of the Hajar Mountains. Your first destination is the picturesque Birkat al Mouz. This village is perched on the mountains and offers a great opportunities for a quiet walk. After that, drive for 45 minutes to arrive at Al Hamra. This 500-year-old mudbrick town makes a perfect environment for lunch break. After lunch, walk for an hour before starting an off-road journey to the top of Jebel Shams, Oman's highest peak. The breathtaking view over Wadi An Nakhr, Oman's Grand Canyon, will make a prefect place for taking photos. Before reaching Nizwa, your last destination of the day, stop by Misfat Al Abriyeen and walk into this authentic mountain village to discover the lifestyle of its locals. Finally, you'll get to Nizwa, where you'll stay for the night.

Day 2: From Nizwa to Wahiba Sands

If your journey to Nizwa takes place on a Friday, go to the Cattle Market to see how traders and buyers negotiate. While in the market, you can also shop for local delicacies at Nizwa Souk before climbing up on its ancient Fort. Continue east to enter the Ash-Sharqiyyah region. The visit starts with Ibra, one of Oman’s oldest cities and a gateway to the desert. Walk into the historical city center and explore its traditional market, dating back to when Ibra was an important trading center. Then, leave the city behind to enter the land of Bedouins, Wahiba Sands, and meet members of this Arabian nomadic tribe in their desert camp, where you'll be spending the night. If you request, you can also ride camels or have fun doing other activities in the sands (extra). In the evening, share a traditional barbecue and enjoy the twinkling of the stars in the sky.

Day 3: Ras al-Jinz

After a traditional breakfast in the desert, say farewell to the Bedouin family and drive for two hours towards the east coast to explore Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most famous wadis. You can swim in its large natural pools and relax under its palm trees. It takes two hours to reach the fishermen's city of Sur. Facing the sea, the city of Sur is the perfect place for a picnic before visiting its Dhow Boat Yards. After that, drive to Ras al Hadd, the Turtle Reserve where the endangered green turtles find refuge. They come to lay their eggs on the beach at night, a show you might be lucky enough to attend.

**Note: The high season for turtle watching is between May and August. Therefore, this activity is not always available.

Day 4: Wadi Shab & Bimmah Sinkhole

Leave early in the morning for your last day of exploration. It starts with the discovery of Wadi Shab. The best way to explore it is on foot, so be ready for an easy 45-minutes hike. Don’t be afraid to get wet as you’ll encounter many waterfalls and natural pools. Swim and relax in this unique natural landscape. As you return to the car, quickly stop by the nearby Fins Beach and its pristine white sands. Driving some 20 minutes north, discover the natural wonder of Bimmah Sinkhole, a large and deep cave with a natural pool. The legend says that it was formed by the fall of a star. On your way to the capital city, explore one last natural splendor, the Wadi Arbyaeen. For two hours, explore the valley and appreciate its large natural pools. Return to Muscat to reach the city by the end of the day.

  • The remaining balance needs to be totally paid two weeks prior to your arrival date.
  • If your arrival date is within the next 14 days, the total amount needs to be paid in advance in order to secure the package.
  • Free cancellation for up to two weeks before your arrival date.
  • 30% cancellation penalty if you cancel within 14-5 days before your arrival date.
  • Non-refundable if you cancel when it's less than five days left until your arrival date.

As of March 21st, 2018, e-Visa has been the only available option to enter the Sultanate of Oman for tourism purposes. The embassies no longer issue the “classic” visa in order to reduce waiting times at the embassies and airports. Since December 2020, around 100 nationalities have been exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 14 days.

The Omani e-Visa requires entry into the country within six months of issue date.

With a valid visa to Dubai, you can enter the Sultanate of Oman without needing any additional visas and you can stay for up to three weeks. Eligible countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, UK, Sweden, Greece, Austria, Ireland, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, South Korea, Japan, Brunei, Malaysia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Vatican, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino.

The e-Visa allows one or more entries with up to 30 days of stay in Oman. In some cases, the duration of stay can be extended. Once your e-Visa is issued, you'll have six months to arrive in Oman.

Generally, e-Visas for Oman are issued within 72 hours from the time you submit your documents. This time frame is only an estimation and not something we can guarantee, as the process depends on the Sultanate’s administrative services.
