Uzbekistan has four major destinations: From east to west, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. During this tour, you’ll discover all of these ancient cities which are full of intricate Islamic architecture, thriving bazaars, and a mystical old-world atmosphere.
It’s impossible to visit all the fantastic places on the Silk road in 8 days, but we have selected the main attractions and highlights of each city for you in this package.

Arrive in Tashkent and transfer from the airport to the hotel to unwind. Tashkent, a modern capital and largest city of Central Asia, is the starting point of your journey in Uzbekistan.
Today, you'll visit two of Tashkent's towers from outside, Lokomative Park and Eye Circle, . Then, you'll have dinner at a traditional Uzbek restaurant.

Get on a morning flight to KHIVA (1000 km, 1 h. 45 min.), and after arriving in Urgench, drive there. You'll enjoy a full-day tour of Khiva and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Itchan-Kala Fortress, dating back to when Khiva became the new capital. Your walking tour continues with your tour guide and you'll visit Kunya-Ark Citadel, Tash-Khovli Palace, Mukhammad Aminkhan Madrasah, Mukhammad Rahimkhan Madrasah, Kalta-Minor, Juma Mosque Minaret of Islam-Khoja. You'll have free time in the afternoon to spend some time in this amazing city by yourself. Finally, you can enjoy a live folklore show while having dinner.

In the morning, you'll depart Khiva and drive towards Bukhara (480 km, 7-8 h.). On the way, we'll stop at a village and experience the lifestyle of the local people there. The Great Silk Road connects Bukhara and Khiva through the Kyzyl -Kum Desert. You'll have a stop en-route to enjoy views of Amu Darya River and the desert, having panoramic views of Turkmenistan border. By the late afternoon, you'll get to Bukhara, check in to your hotel, and have some rest.

Today, you'll enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour with your guide in the old neighborhoods of Bukhara and visit Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, trade domes, Kalyan Mosque and Minaret, Miri-Arab Madrasah, Ulugbek, and Abdulazizkhan madrasahs. In addition, you can explore Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, Ismail Samani, and Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. Then, you'll have free time to enjoy the evening by yourself.

After an early breakfast , you'll head to Samarkand by car (200km/3/4 hrs ). Have a stop on the way to visit the Gijduvan ceramics museum and learn more about making handmade ceramics. Then you'll arrive in Samarkand and have lunch at an Uzbek restaurant. After lunch, visit Saint Daniel Mazar, the only place in Central Asia which is a sacred place to everyone regardless of their religion and whether they're Muslim, Jewish, or Christian. Then we'll visit the ancient paper mill of Meros, before having dinner.

Today you'll visit some other historical attractions of Samarkhand in the morning such as The mausoleum of Gur Emir, which is the burial place of Tamer Lang and a princess of his family. Registan Square, also known as the heart of Samarkand, consists of so many great attractions including Madrassa of Ulugbek, Madrassa SherDor, and Tillya-Kori Madrassah. Your next visit will be BibiKhanum Mosque, which has been the biggest mosque of Central Asia. This mosque has been built in remembrance of Bibi Khanum, Taimur's favorite wife, after his victorious return from his trip to India in 1399.
After that visit Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis(meaning the living King ). This pilgrimage site gets its name from Kusam ibn Abbas, the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad and the legend which says that after his injury on the walls of Samarkhand, he has escaped to the underground, and is still living there to this day. Then, you can go shopping at the famous oriental Siyob bazaar, after having lunch.
In the evening, you'll be transferred to the Railway station, and take a high-speed train “called Afrosiyob” for getting back to Tashkent which takes about 2 hours. Then you'll be transferred to the hotel to relax.

In the morning, you will transfer to the Chimgan Mountains. Upon arrival, you will have a chair lift to reach the top to see Beldersay Peak, 30 min one-way. You will have some free time here to walk around and enjoy nature. On the way back; you will stop over at Charvak lakeside beach for free time and your own water activities (as per season). Charvak is an artificial lake and a popular resort in the Tashkent region, and thousands of holidaymakers from all over Uzbekistan and neighboring countries visit the reservoir. At the end of the day, they return to Tashkent. Overnight in Tashkent.

Check-out from the hotel, and have a transfer to Tashkent International Airport for your departure flight back home.
To enter Uzbekistan, all visitors need to have a visa, except for visa-free countries. To obtain a visa, you should apply for visa support (letter of invitation) from a tour agency with a license from Uzbektourism. There are 51 countries with a simplified visa application procedure, meaning they do not need visa support to apply for a visa.
You will be eligible to apply for a visa, at the arrivals lounge of Tashkent International Airport if you meet both of the following conditions: -There is no Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate in the country of your originating flight to Uzbekistan. -If you have a connecting flights to Uzbekistan, The Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate in the transit country, does not provide enough time to obtain a visa.
Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are generally the most pleasant time to travel. The weather at this time is clear; in April, you will enjoy a colorful yet short spring in the desert. Autumn is harvest time, and the markets are full of fresh fruit. June and August are the best times for those who enjoy hiking because of the dry summer. In winter, the temperature usually varies between -5 and +5 (all temperatures are in Celsius), snow is usual for Uzbekistan, but there are sunnier than cloudy days. Coats, hats, gloves, and sweaters are recommended. In spring, the weather is mild; day temperature fluctuates between +15 and +25, reaching +30 - +35 close to summer. Casual, lightweight clothing for daytime and a light jacket or cardigan for the evening is suggested. If you plan to visit Uzbekistan in the summer, expect +36 - + 42. T-shirts and shorts will work best. It is highly recommended to wear a hat or a cap or to use a parasol. Early autumn is like spring; T-shirts for daytime and a light jacket might be needed occasionally for evening time. Mid-October and November are relatively calm; you will need light jackets during the day and a raincoat sometimes. Weather temperature decreases from 35 to 15 degrees from early to late autumn.
Generally, there are no strict limitations on clothing, especially in Tashkent and other major cities, where particularly young people enjoy full liberty with clothing. You can frequently encounter young ladies wearing traditional Islamic covers, but this is a personal preference rather than a must. In some provinces, however, such as Ferghana Valley, it would be better to avoid wearing shorts. The same rule is applied when visiting religious places, mosques, mausoleums, etc. Also, ladies should cover their shoulders and chest and preferably wear a hat or a headscarf. In the summertime, it would be advisable to follow the above recommendation to protect yourself from the sun. Also, sun protection lotions can be used.
