Itinerary

Day 1: The Hajar Moutains

Meet your guide in the morning and drive towards the Hajar Mountains via the northern coast. Your first stop is Nakhal, where you can relax at the Ayn Thawarra Hot Springs. Continue further into the lands to enter Wadi Bani Awd, one of Oman's most famous wadis, and enjoy its beautiful scenery with great cliffs and canyons. For lunch, you'll reach the picturesque Bilad Sayt. It is one of Oman's most beautiful villages which is located in the mountains and is reachable only with a 4WD vehicle. Have a lovely walk through the town while meeting the locals.

Eventually by the end of the day you'll reach another lovely village, Misfat Al Abriyeen. Wander into its beautiful alleys to admire the view over the gorgeous agricultural terraces, and have an overnight stay in one of its traditional mud houses built on top of the rocks.

Day 2: Bahla, Jabreen, and Nizwa Forts

Today, explore Jebel Akhdar all the way down to Nizwa. Your first destination is the old town of Al Hamra. This 400-year-old village is famous for its mudbrick houses. Surrounded by palm trees, walnuts, and pomegranate trees, it offers stunning views. After a pleasant walk in the village, get back on the road to discover Oman's most famous forts, and stop for taking a photo at Bahla Castle, a UNESCO site which is an outstanding example of a fortified oasis.
After Bahla, discover another impressive castle, Jabreen, dating back to the 17th century. After that, visit Nizwa's fort, one of the best examples of ancient Omani castles. For the night, you will rest in the quietness of Jebel Akhdar.

Day 3: The Jebel Akhdar

Today is a full day of mountain exploration and adventures in Jebel Akhdar! It starts with a photoshoot at Suwajara, an intriguing village which is famous for its hidden houses carved into the cliffs. This village had been home to a remote tribe for more than 500 years. Then continue driving to reach Juniper Tree Park, and admire the unfamiliar scenery the trees create there.

After lunch, you'll get to the abandoned village of Wadi Bani Habib. Explore its streets on foot, and discover the traditional architecture of its houses, which contain many stories to be told. Continue to Saiq town and the traditional villages of Al Aqr and Al Ayn. You can admire the view over the traditional agricultural terracing below from their high level. In Al Ayn, you'll discover a unique UNESCO site: the Beehive Tomb. For the evening, go back to the peaceful atmosphere of your hotel nestled in the Jebel Akhdar.

Day 4: Wahiba Sands

It's time to leave the mountains for the desert! Say goodbye to the Hajar Mountains with a quick stop at Birkat al Mawz. This picturesque village is full of banana plantations, irrigated by the traditional irrigation system called Aflaj (UNESCO listed). For lunch, stop at Ibra, an ancient city located at the gate of the desert, and visit the Old Quarter and the ruins of Al Munisifeh. Then, enter the immensity of Wahiba Sands' desert. Enjoy the scenery of a horizon of dunes, and experience some light dune bashing with your guide. Stay at a traditional Bedouin camp for the night, where you can experience a camel ride . Watch the sunset over the dunes, and share a delicious dinner with your hosts before relaxing under the stars.

Day 5: Ras Al Jinz

Say farewell to the Bedouin family and drive to the east coast and explore Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most famous wadis. You can swim in its large natural pools and relax under the palm trees. Explore the valley before driving to the sea and reaching the fishermen's city of Sur. Before visiting Dhow Boat Yards, the perfect scenery for a picnic faces the sea, where boats are still built the traditional way. In the evening, go to Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, where the endangered green turtles find refuge. At night, they come to lay their eggs on the beach: A show you might be lucky enough to attend.

**Note: The high season for turtle watching is between May and August. Therefore, this activity is not always available.

Day 6: Bimmah Sinkhole and Wadi Shab

For your last day, enjoy the natural splendors of the eastern coast. First, hike to the famous Wadi Shab. The best way to explore this valley is on foot. An easy 45 minutes hike unveils caves, natural pools, and waterfalls. After your walk, what's best than relaxing by the sea? Fins Beach offers a perfect setting for swimming. After having a swim, leave Fins to end your trip with visiting one of Oman's most impressive natural wonders, Bimmah Sinkhole. This large and deep natural cave contains a pool of blue water. Legend says that it was formed by the fall of a star. Eventually, you'll reach Muscat by the end of the day, where your driver will drop you off at the location of your choice.

  • 30% cancellation penalty if you cancel within 14-5 days before your arrival date.
  • Non-refundable if you cancel when it's less than five days left until your arrival date.

As of March 21st, 2018, e-Visa has been the only available option to enter the Sultanate of Oman for tourism purposes. The embassies no longer issue the “classic” visa in order to reduce waiting times at the embassies and airports. Since December 2020, around 100 nationalities have been exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 14 days.

The Omani e-Visa requires entry into the country within six months of issue date.

With a valid visa to Dubai, you can enter the Sultanate of Oman without needing any additional visas and you can stay for up to three weeks. Eligible countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, UK, Sweden, Greece, Austria, Ireland, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, South Korea, Japan, Brunei, Malaysia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Vatican, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino.

The e-Visa allows one or more entries with up to 30 days of stay in Oman. In some cases, the duration of stay can be extended. Once your e-Visa is issued, you'll have six months to arrive in Oman.

Generally, e-Visas for Oman are issued within 72 hours from the time you submit your documents. This time frame is only an estimation and not something we can guarantee, as the process depends on the Sultanate’s administrative services.
